I’m very glad to bring you a new episode of “Living La Vida Yoga” featuring Eira Scheper. She is a radiant yogini from Barcelona. I’m so glad to introduce her, so you get to know her better and the amazing work she does :
How did you get into Yoga?
I found out about yoga through Instagram actually! I was newly into my health and fitness journey and created an account to keep myself motivated to work out and I started seeing a lot of yogi accounts. Seeing people gain so much flexibility made me really curious to see if I would be able to do the same and I started taking classes at my local gym.
How do you integrate Yoga in your daily life?
Yoga used to be just something physical at the beginning so it was just a part of my fitness routine, but in time it became a whole lifestyle for me. I took the love and gratitude I experienced on the mat and took it to the rest of my day. I meditate every morning to connect with my higher self and the universe, I start my days feeling grateful for everything that comes my way, positive or negative. I use my breath in moments of fear or stress to not let it get the best of me and come back to a state of pure love and abundance. Yoga and the spirituality that comes with it has literally changed my whole life.
What or Who inspires you everyday?
The limitless opportunities that we have to learn and create every day. I find inspiration in a lot of people around me and in the world, but I look to find my biggest inspiration in myself. For everything I have accomplished and am working to accomplish.
What has been your biggest yoga experience up to date?
I have had a lot of amazing and crazy experiences, but the one that will always stick with me was the day I managed to do the splits fully. It’s when I didn’t just realize how much my flexibility had improved, but that it wasn’t the real goal. The real goal that I had accomplished was to believe in myself and work hard towards something I had never done before. I used to not believe in myself or love myself enough before, and as stupid as that seems, it changed everything for me. I started crying when I relaxed into the pose and couldn’t stop for good 10 minutes. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had.
What is your favorite Yoga Pose and what do you love about it?
I don’t know if I can chose just one, but it would be either the splits because of what I just told you or handstand because it’s a work in progress for me right now that makes me face my fear of falling and failing, and that one is a big lesson.
Tell me about your latest projects…
Right now I am super excited because I am just about to launch my eBook “Your Own Yoga” / “Tu Propio Yoga” which is a guide to start practicing yoga and spirituality but written in a way without Sanskrit or words that newbies don’t understand.
